ABOUT ME

I’m Kris Kramer, and my yoga journey began in an unexpected way-after breaking my foot while playing basketball. My doctor recommended yoga to help heal and strengthen my foot, and while I first came to the mat for physical recovery, what I discovered was so much greater.

Not only did yoga rebuild strength and mobility in my foot, but it also began to change the way my entire body moved and felt. My muscles loosened, my cardio endurance improved during jogging, and I felt stronger and more energized in every activity. Beyond the physical, yoga gave me mental clarity, emotional resilience, and a deeper sense of presence in my everyday life. It taught me how to manage stress, nurture my relationships, and grow in faith through a stronger connection with God. These profound shifts inspired me to share the gifts of yoga with others.

In the spring of 2006, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Now, a Yoga Alliance–registered school in Keego Harbor, MI. I’ve now been teaching yoga for over 19 years, guiding students of all ages and backgrounds to find strength, balance, and peace through their practice. In August 2025, I officially earned my E-RYT 200 credentials and became a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), expanding my ability to teach and mentor both students and teachers.

I began teaching at the Troy Community Center in Troy, Michigan, in the fall of 2006, where I still teach today. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with countless students—each with their own stories, challenges, and goals. My passion for teaching grew into a desire to reach beyond my local community, which is why I now also teach online. This allows me to connect with students who live outside my area, those who have moved away, and those who need the flexibility of practicing at home in the midst of busy lives.

My teaching style is rooted in the belief that yoga is for everybody. I guide students through classes that focus on the total body—building flexibility, strength, energy, and balance. My classes are especially beneficial for those who lift weights, run, or play sports, as yoga supports recovery, prevents injury, and enhances overall performance. But the benefits don’t stop on the mat. Through yoga, my students often notice a powerful mindset shift: more calm, focus, and resilience that carries into every part of life.

Yoga is more than just movement—it’s a practice that transforms how we show up in the world. My mission is to help you feel strong, flexible, and energized at any age, while cultivating balance, mindfulness, and joy both on and off the mat.

I'd love to have you join me in class.
